CD Projekt Red has finally released gameplay footage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox series versions of The Witcher 3. Wild Hunt reveals all the upgrades coming to the next-generation console versions of the 2015 RPG.
The video, released on CD Projekt Red’s Twitch Livestream, outlines the upgraded visuals, all-new quests, cross-progressions, and more that will be introduced to “The Witcher 3” when the update is released on December 14 and shows the developers’ The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gameplay.
CD Projekt Red confirmed that the console would have additional graphics settings. Allowing players to choose between 30 frames per second with ray tracing or 60 frames per second without. This will be available on all next-generation consoles, including the Xbox Series S.
Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update
The DLC based on the “Witcher” Netflix series will also be expanded into its quest. It will reward the previously announced armor based on Henry Cavill’s version of Geralt. An alternate costume will also be added for Dandelion, making him look more like Jaskai from the Netflix series.
Multiple Quality-of-Life Improvements
CD Projekt Red also announced that the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 would feature cross-progression. Allowing players to share saves between the PlayStation 5, Xbox series and PC.
The PS5 version adds haptic feedback, which causes the controller to vibrate in various ways when the player clashes swords with enemies or casts magic signs.
Speaking of which, quality-of-life improvements have also been made to wielding magic. You can now switch between signs by operating the left bumper; if you hold the button down. The face button corresponding to each sign will change. It’s a bit advanced, but it allows you to immerse yourself in the battle without going into menus.
Other changes, such as map changes, improve the quality of life. Clean up the pesky question marks in each world of “The Witcher 3” through new filter settings.
This is also intended to increase immersion in the game by allowing players to encounter various events. More naturally rather than treating them like a checklist.
The minimap is also more dynamic, with the minimap. On-screen targets disappear as players explore the world on horseback or engage in combat.

The game’s PC version will be updated for next-gen consoles, adding ray tracing, more customization options and a new photo mode. It also adds new camera angles for more dramatic and cinematic gameplay.
The camera in this option is slightly closer to Geralt and one side, similar to the original trailer for The Witcher 3.
The next updated version of The Witcher 3 will soon become a reality
The next generation updated version was originally scheduled to be released last year but was delayed twice, with a new version being developed by third-party studio Saber Interactive. Although CD Projekt Red insists that it is “not in development hell,” it will be released in April 2022 on its own They took a step back.
The Q4 date was pushed back to May, and while many are anxious to see it near the end of the year, not to mention the two previous delays, CD Projekt Red announced a December date at the beginning of November, and it looks like they will meet their goal.
