Wordle is a very popular word game, both because the results are posted all over social networking sites by players and because of the game’s simplicity: the object is to guess a five-letter American English word six times or less.
There is no initial clue as to what the word is, but once you guess, the tiles change color to tell you more about the letters in the word. The tiles change color to gray, yellow, or green.
Gray indicates that the letter you guessed is not in the word. Yellow indicates that the letter is in the word but not your current position. Green indicates that you have guessed the correct letter and placed it in the correct position.
The game has a hard mode, which forces you to guess using all the correctly guessed letters in the previous row. As you may have already done, there are times when Wordle has more than one answer, and you have to guess the word that contains the candidate letters to solve it, but in this mode, you will not be able to do that. If you find it too difficult, you can always turn it back off, even during the game.
