Valve Teases has given a heads-up about its upcoming Steam Winter Sale, which will begin next week, and will be the latest in a series of frequent offerings from Steam’s vast library of heavily discounted games. As in previous years, we can expect significant price reductions from popular AAA titles to up-and-coming indie games.
Valve Teases seems to be experiencing a recent surge in popularity thanks to its regular sales and, more recently, the success of Steam Deck. With a competent hardware offering, the portable console has successfully expanded its vast library of games into the mobile space. Recently, the company announced improvements to the Steam Deck, and Valve has also revealed interest in a new Steam controller. With the company teasing next week’s Steam Winter Sale, it looks like Valve will not be slowing down its growth ambitions.

According to Steam, the upcoming sale will discount thousands of games and will begin on December 22 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET and run through January 5, 2023. This year’s sale will likely include popular titles such as Fallout 76, Sonic Frontiers, SD Gundam Battle Alliance, Ready or Not, Two Point Campus, Persona 5 Royal, F1 Manager 2022, and New World. New World, and more. In addition, the Steam Winter Sale will include the chance to vote for 2022 Steam Awards nominees in 11 categories, including a new addition of games for mobile devices.
New Year Sale with an annual Spring
Interestingly, the store is already offering some great deals on games currently on sale, including Immortals Fenix Rising at 75% off, Star Wars Jedi at 88% off, and Fallen Order at 67% off. Red Dead Redemption 2 is also 67% off. The Steam Winter Sale follows Valve’s recently concluded 2022 Steam Autumn Sale. The company had previously announced that it would replace the Lunar New Year Sale with an annual Spring Sale starting next year. In other words, Steam will hold a big sale each season.
Recently, Tesla announced Steam for cars, making its store available on a new platform. The electric car company announced that its Plaid Model S and X will even be able to play high-demand titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring.

After all, Tesla had previously stated that it was considering having its cars’ infotainment systems achieve PS5-level performance. In any case, the introduction of in-car gaming via the Steam store will be an interesting area to watch in the coming months, and time will tell if it will reach a level of popularity that will earn its category at next year’s Steam Awards, which will take place during Valve’s Winter Sale.
