It’s a great time to be a survival horror buff. Not only is the long-awaited “Dead Space” remake coming out. But one of the franchise’s leading figures is launching an all-new terrifying space adventure: The Callisto Protocol.

It’s about a prisoner on the moon of Jupiter who is attacked by aliens. All manner of death and achievements are available throughout the game. It seems likely that he will meet a gruesome fate of some sort.

Set 300 years in the future, this is a storytelling third-person survival horror game in which Jacob Lee, a victim of fate, is thrown into Black Iron Prison, a maximum security prison on Callisto, a moon of Jupiter. The prison is thrown into chaos when the prisoners begin transforming into monsters.

Jacob must fight his way to safety to escape Black Iron Prison and uncover the dark secrets hidden beneath the surface of Callisto. Jacob must use his unique combination of ranged and melee combat tactics to battle the rapidly evolving creatures, procuring new weapons, equipment, and abilities to cut through the growing threat and escape the horrors of Jupiter’s Dead Moon.

The invasion will cause other humans to mutate into monsters, and part of the story will be to find out why this started happening in the first place.

The Callisto Protocol is a third-person survival horror game that, like Dead Space before it, will occasionally ramp up the action to provide a tense and nail-biting gaming experience. Watch the gameplay below and see for yourself.

The variety of enemies will keep things fresh as the game progresses, and combat will be a mix of weapons and melee attacks. But if you are hoping to use only weapons, you are wrong.

Also, the enemies are formidable, and even just one enemy is going to make you suffer more than you ever thought possible, so get ready to be terrified and frustrated with this game, which we can’t wait to see when it comes out in December!
