The original System Shock, released in 1992, was an iconic PC game and was a major inspiration for the creation of Bioshock. When the remake of this legendary game was announced, fans were ecstatic to see the amazingly talented team at Nightdive Studios at the helm.

After the success of “Dead Space” and “The Callisto Protocol,” NightDive Studios is ready to compete with their upcoming game “System Shock.” For those who don’t know, this is an iconic game franchise from 1994-1996. It’s trying to make a comeback on next-generation consoles. But what does this sci-fi FPS offer?

The game’s Steam page currently shows a March 2023 release date.

March 2023 is a pretty important month in the gaming industry, though, as it also happens to be the release date of the highly anticipated “Resident Evil 4 Remake.

System Shock will be a full remake of the iconic FPS title and is set to include all the twists and turns that made the title unique in the first place, and the gameplay trailers released so far show a very nice title in development!

Only time will tell if this date is correct, but since only publishers have access to the modifier on the title’s Steam page, there is little chance that this is a mistake.

GOG.com currently has a placeholder date of December 31, 2022. Since it is unlikely that the title will drop before the end of the year, this would certainly further increase the credibility of the release date on Steam.

Released in 1994, “System Shock” became a popular franchise on Windows and Mac. However, the franchise has not been heard from since the release of its sequel in 1996. However, NightDive Studios is looking to change that by remaking System Shock for next-generation consoles such as the PS5.

NightDive’s version of System Shock has received numerous updates. For example, the graphics have been significantly upgraded to appeal to the younger generation. Even better, these upgrades are being developed by industry veterans who have designed games such as “BioShock” and “Mass Effect.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been smooth sailing since then, as NightDive Studios has changed its mind about “System Shock. For example, the graphics engine was changed several times.

Fortunately, the development of “System Shock” has not ended. On the contrary, the official trailer was released at the 2022 Summer of Gaming Expo on June 12. We have a lot to tell you about this game, and we are sure you will be surprised.
