Sable is no longer free on the Epic Store, but still 50% off

As the clock ticks forward, today’s free Epic Store game of the day is Them’s Fightin’ Herds. Sable, however, remains on sale for $12.50.

To celebrate the holiday season each year, the Epic Games Store will be offering a new game for free each morning, with weekly game giveaways changing daily. To date, the offerings have been, don’t get me wrong, good ones. I don’t mean to take anything away from “Horizon Chase Turbo” or “Costume Quest 2”.

But they are not “sable”. In his review of the game, Nat Clayton declared, “Sable’s lonely, wistful journey of self-discovery will stay with you forever,” giving it an enviable score of 93%. Sable is available on the Epic Games Store today, December 18, through tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET/pm 8:00 a.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. GMT will be available for free download on the Epic Games Store from today, December 18, through tomorrow, December 18.

I remember following the development of this chilling open-world exploration game for years and being underwhelmed each time developer Shed works released new gameplay footage. Sable’s celluloid style, a tribute to famed French illustrator Jean Giraud Möbius, is as stunning as “Wind Waker’s” breakthrough. Gameplay aside, Sable is truly a visual feast that must be experienced.
