Ash, not me, and I understand everyone’s confusion. Still, now that Ash has finally become a Pokémon Champion after 25 years of not aging, the animated series appears to be saying goodbye to its best work. In the announcement that a new Pokémon anime series is on the way, there was the tidbit that after the current series, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys, concludes, a special episode will air in honor of Ash’s many accomplishments.

“Pokémon Ultimate Journey concludes with a collection of special episodes commemorating Ash and Pikachu’s 25-season journey to become Pokémon World Champions. These episodes are the final chapters of Ash and Pikachu’s journey, offering a glimpse into the future of the world’s most powerful trainers.”

It seems that the journey that began in Palette Town and continued on to Johto, Sinnoh, Alola, and beyond, and everywhere in between, has finally ended. And that’s good for Ash.

Ash’s journey appears to be over, but in 2023, the Pokémon series will continue with new protagonists. The new protagonists, Rico and Roy, will embark on a journey to become the strongest with the help of the starter Pocket Monsters in “Pokémon Scarlett and Violet.” Also, the setting is the Pardia region, so you will be able to enjoy a full Pokémon breakfast with Fido, Reconk, and other mons.
