GOG is giving away a free game to start its big Winter Sale

Winter is here. You know what that means. It’s cold, snowy, and dark at 5 p.m., and the subtle but undeniable funkiness of sweaty boots piled on the front porch. But it’s also the time of year for year-end sales, and the GOG Winter Sale kicks off with a giveaway of the ratty RPG Ghost of a Tale.

Ghost of a Tale tells the story of Tilo, a medieval rat who explores the secrets and dangers of the Dwindling Heights Keep; Tilo doesn’t have much in the way of combat skills and is a rat, relying instead on stealth and speed to get around. Technical issues plagued the game at launch, but post-launch updates promised it would be “as good as it should be” from the start, earning an overall rating of 4.6/5 on GOG and an overall score as high as 75 on Metacritic.
It is also free. You have to go to GOG.com and click the “Add to Library” button, and you’re done.

This is because, as I mentioned earlier, it is on sale at this time of year. So, as usual in these situations, let me recommend a few games that I have enjoyed or would be willing to put money into.
