Grand Theft Auto Mod ‘GTA 4 Definitive Edition’ to Enhance Sandbox Games Removed Following DMCA Notice; Rockstar Includes ‘GTA 6’ Leaks
As “Grand Theft Auto” developer Rockstar continues to battle “GTA 6” leaks, “GTA 4 Definitive Edition,” an ambitious GTA MOD project aimed at enhancing the sandbox game for PC, has been taken down by DMCA notice and has been removed.
The Definitive Edition Project is an ongoing GTA player-driven mod site that provides performance and visual improvements to various Rockstar games, including GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, and Bully. The company is also developing GTA 4: Definitive Edition, a single download of external and custom-made mods intended to improve the visuals and address performance issues related to the PC version of the 2008 open-world sequel Rockstar Games and Rockstar Games are developing the game.
However, as Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two struggled with leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay and details, the Definitive Edition Project received a DMCA notice, and GTA 4: Definitive Edition was removed from its website and Discord servers; the DMCA issuer is not specified, but the notice states that the mod is “suspected of infringing on the copyright protection of the file creator.”

It was previously reported that an official remaster of GTA 4 was in development at Rockstar but was canceled due to the reception of 2021’s Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and a remaster of the original Red Dead Redemption. Alongside the plans, a remaster of GTA 4 was planned, and while the GTA 6 leak revealed that the next game would be set in Vice City, focus on heists, and feature both male and female protagonists, Rockstar has said that the game’s release will not be delayed …
