EA has announced that it will make “The Sims 4” free-to-play starting next month, eight years after the Maxis life simulation game was released.

EA has announced that The Sims 4 will be free to play and that the game’s payment model will be changed to give players of Maxis’ life simulation game easier access to additional content.

According to The Sims 4’s Origin page, free-to-play will begin next month on October 18, and PC players will no longer have to pay the base play fee starting next month.

More details will be presented in a particular stream on the same day as the free-to-play launch, and EA has already promised to release additional content in the future.

Players who have already purchased “The Sims 4” will receive a Desert Luxe Kit.

EA may have decided to change the base game of “The Sims 4” to entice more people, as there is no shortage of expansion content for the game released in 2014; on Steam alone, there are a whopping 58 pieces of DLC, ranging from large expansion packs to medium-sized game packs and small items packs. In addition, mini-collections, called kits, give you more options in the game.

Before The Sims 4 goes free, EA also offers a free sim creation demo and the opportunity to try out the game.
