Popular Minecraft YouTuber Alex Technoblade passed away at the age of 23. The news comes in a farewell video posted by his family, “so long nerds,” in which his father reads from a script written shortly before his death and then offers his own condolences Technoblade’s channel has over 10.8 million followers.

The script reads:” Thank you all for your support of my content over the years. If I had another 100 lives, I would choose to be Technoblade again every time because it was the happiest years.” It is written.

The content creator burst onto the Minecraft scene in 2013 and, throughout his long career, has become primarily known for his sense of humor, PvP skills, and friendly competition with fellow Minecraft superstar Dream. Last year, he announced to fans his cancer diagnosis in his right arm. He talked about the various treatments he underwent, including amputation surgery on a limb that he joked was on the verge of being amputated.

In his farewell video, Technoblade’s father talks about donating some of the proceeds from his late son’s merchandise to charity. He concludes with the following statement.

From Technoblade’s early online days, he was always looking for ways to please and reward his audience. He gave away online prizes, encouraged sportsmanship, and shared his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and laughter, among other things.

The tribute quickly became the #1 trending video on Youtube. The statement from TechnoBlade’s father concludes.

“Over the past year, my son has had a lot of hard times as he battled stage 4 cancer. But he never complained and continued to use his famous strategic thinking to try and beat the odds that seemed almost impossible. My son’s courage was a shining lesson to all of us who had the privilege of walking this path with him. Thank you for sharing his journeys with us as he did the work he loved for his beloved fans.”
