Red Dead Redemption 2 is already considered a very realistic game in its visual aspect, but clearly, these modders feel that something more is needed.
There is no denying that Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most successful “blockbuster” video games of recent years. Not only is its file size one of the largest for a PC game, using approximately 150 GB of storage, but it is also one of the most expensive titles ever developed. But for all that, Rockstar is one of the most realistic recreations of the United States at the turn of the century. But even with something so highly acclaimed, there is always room for improvement.
That’s what one modding group has done recently: the Red Dead Redemption 2 add-on “Vestigia,” introduced by PCGamesN, overhauls many of the visual and environmental aspects of this behemoth of a game. as you can see on Nexus’ mod page, no 12, DayL, WhyEm, and Majestic253, four users have created four mods in one. Features included in this download include a more “connected” weather system, whose transitions are less jarring and more natural. Also implemented are better world plant, animal, and human-AI changes. Also, pedestrians have been added to the city, making it easier for pedestrians to talk to each other.
With superb writing, excellent characterization, and a beautiful, lived-in world, it is no wonder that many consider “Red Dead Redemption 2” to be Rockstar’s best work. While “GTA 5” may be more successful in terms of player numbers and overall sales, for those seeking a realistic open-world experience, the western prequel is still fantastic.
As one of the best-selling video games of the past decade, Arthur Morgan’s story and character arc have had a huge impact on the gaming world. Continuing the success of its predecessor and reigning as the pinnacle of open-world gaming, Modder and his team have gone for even more realism, and you can see how much fans love this 2018 title.
