8 most common Android problems and how to fix them!

1. Short battery life

Smartphone performance and technology are improving daily, but the battery size does not increase as much, resulting in shorter battery life. However, the processing units in newer phones are more efficient, so the batteries last longer even though they are smaller.

  • Do not use LTE (4G); 3G consumes less battery power.
  • Turn off Location unless you actively need it.
  • Turn off Bluetooth.
  • Limit the use of heavy applications (e.g., some of the best Android games).
  • Avoid overheating the device.
  • Turn down the brightness.
  • Turn off Wi-Fi unless actively using it.

If you do all this and the charge is still not improved at all, you can take the phone to a phone repair store and ask for a battery replacement. If you still don’t see any effect, maybe it’s time for a new phone.

2. Connectivity Issues

One of the most common problems with Android is related to connectivity – Wi-Fi, mobile data, mobile plans, Bluetooth, etc. – you’ve had sudden problems with connectivity, haven’t you? But there’s no need to panic.

In most cases, there is no need to turn it off. First, turn on Airplane Mode for a few seconds, then turn it off. After that, the problem should resolve itself. But if not, try turning the phone off and back on again.

3. The device shuts down and no longer turns on.

Smartphones can turn off and go strange on their own, either because they do so for no reason or because the battery is no longer fully charged. But when you press the power button to turn it on, nothing appears! Well, you don’t have to worry too much.

If the battery is completely gone and the device does not turn on even when connected to the charger, leave it for a few minutes and try again. If the battery is completely drained, it typically takes several minutes for the phone to turn on.

4. App not downloading in Google Play Store

Since we are talking about the Google Play Store, it is worth mentioning the problem of it simply refusing to download selected apps. This can be annoying and bothersome, but at least the solution is simple.

First, clear the cache and data of the Google Play service by following all the steps described in the previous section; restart your Android device, and if that does not solve the problem, delete the download history in the Google Play Store itself.

5. RAM memory is almost full

This is often the case when you have several different apps installed. The more apps you have installed (and running), the more RAM the device will demand and, thus, the slower it will run (unless you have an extremely high-end device). This phenomenon occurs even more frequently when you have a lot of apps with background functionality, which can go unnoticed.

Do not trust apps that say they will remove all apps running in the background (often known as task killers).

To clear RAM, you can double-check all installed apps, find the ones you are not using, and uninstall them. You can also look for the memory tab in settings; you will see which of your apps use the most RAM.

6. Video Playback Issues

7. Bluetooth or mobile data is not available.

Other problems may occur with Bluetooth or mobile data network connectivity. In other words, it may simply stop working. The first step anyone should take to fix this problem is to reboot the phone, which usually works.

If it does, the next step is to turn on the device’s Airplane mode for a few minutes, and once you turn it back off, everything should have gone back to functioning normally.

8. The touch screen is not responsive at all.

What could be worse than having your cell phone touchscreen become completely unresponsive? This can be caused by a more serious problem, such as dropping your phone or dropping it in the water.

However, if nothing extreme happens to your device, it could simply be a temporary system error. If you turn it off, let it sit for a few minutes, and then turn it back on, it will most likely work properly.
