ShahZaM said he chose G2 over several other Valorant teams

Valorant star ShahzebShahZaM‘ Khan has revealed that he chose to sign with G2 Esports over many other teams.

The former Sentinels player officially joined G2 Esports’ new NA-based team Valorant as its in-game leader on December 12.

He reunited with former Sentinels teammate Michael ‘dapr’ Gulino. Assembled a new roster that includes the former Version 1 duo of Erik ‘penny’ Penny and Maxim ‘ wipe’ Shepelev.

G2 Esports appears to be one of the strongest teams heading into the NA Valorant Challengers League. And in a recent Livestream, ShahZaM revealed that he chose G2 over several other teams. But did not say if any of those teams are VCT partners.

“What if there are other offers besides G2? I’ll make it count,” he told viewers.

A former CS: GO pro, ShahZaM played for Sentinels from 2020-2022. Helping the team win several national tournaments and the VCT 2021 Stage 2 Masters Reykjavík.

He will leave Sentinels after the 2022 season as the team rebuilds after a disappointing year. Gustavo ‘Sacy’ Rossi and Bryan ‘pANcada’ Luna from LOUD, Rory ‘ depth’ Jackson from XSET. And Zachary ‘zekken’ Patrone from XSET, leaving Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo as the only remaining Sentinels starter from the 2022 roster.

G2 Esports will be going through the Challengers league after the Andrew Tate debacle cost them a spot in the VCT Partner League. The top teams from the Challengers League in the Americas will face off in the Ascension Tournament in their region, with the winner receiving a two-year promotion to the International League.
