Minecraft Bedrock Edition may be a new version of the sandbox game, but it doesn’t offer many customization options. While the Java version boasts thousands of mods and shaders, the Bedrock edition has only a handful of mods. Additionally, the Bedrock Edition runs on multiple devices and consoles, making it more difficult to create mods.

Fortunately, Nvidia’s RTX technology has made Bedrock Edition a very beautiful piece of work with greatly improved graphics. However, not everyone has an RTX-capable graphics card, especially if you are on a console or smartphone; there are fewer options compared to the Java Edition, but there are still several shaders available to the community.

Steps to download and install shaders for Minecraft Bedrock Edition

1) Identify RTX graphics on a device

First, you need to make sure that your device has an RTX-capable graphics card. To do this, open Minecraft Bedrock Edition, head to the video settings, scroll all the way down and find the “Ray Tracing” toggle. If the toggle is grayed out, it means that your device is not RTX capable, and vice versa.

This is important because RTX-enabled devices can get multiple shaders more easily than devices without this feature.

2) Search for the shaders

Just head to your browser and search for “Minecraft Bedrock Edition shaders.” There are several websites that offer shaders for games, but one of the best is MCPEDL.

Once on the website, you will see a list of shaders available for download; some shaders will only work with RTX, and some will work without RTX, so you need to check the word RTX first.

If you have an RTX-compatible device, simply choose your favorite RTX shader and download it from the website. Be sure to check that the shader pack is compatible with the latest version of the game.

3) Installing and activating the shader pack

After downloading the shader pack, you should see the official logo of the game and the extension “.mcpack.” Double-click on the downloaded file to automatically launch the game. The file will automatically be imported into the game. This is one of the best features of Bedrock Edition, as players do not have to manually drag and drop files into the game folder.

Once the import is complete, head to Settings and open the “Global Resources” tab. Under the “Inactive” list, you will see the new shader pack. Click on the Activate button to load the pack into your game.

For RTX shader packs, you will need to make sure the RTX toggle is turned on in the video settings.
